This is a disappointing result to many as we feel that a far greater increase could have been gained with the right leadership. The majority has voted to accept, so we must now move on and build for a more organised and concerted effort in 14 months time.
Our main aim must now be direct employment across all JIB member companies so we can build our strength and influence in the sector once more.
Below is the Employers’ (ECA and SELECT) final, final offer
·A Two year pay offer:
Monday 5th January 2015, an increase of 2% in the hourly rate of pay for all
Graded operatives employed on the London and National Rates, with a further 3%
increase in the hourly rate of pay from 4th January 2016.
Monday 5th January 2015, a 2% increase in the Travel Time and
Allowances, with a further 3% increase from the 4th January 2016.
Monday 5th January 2015, an increase of 20% (£5,000) in Death
Benefit for any cause to £30,000.
Monday 5th January 2015, a further increase to the Accommodation
Allowance.This will be subject to HMRC
approval in line with their formula and likewise, for the 4th
Monday 5th January 2015, a revision to JIB Rule 11.4.5, with a
return Air Flight journey every four weeks instead of every six weeks.
Monday 5th January 2015, the Onshore
Oil and Gas rates will be increased to the level of the JIB standard rates.
This represents 10% uplift (£1.39 per hour) for an Approved Electrician (Own
Transport). With the hourly rate of pay increasing by 3% as the 4th
review of the JIB Benefit Scheme by the Employee Relations Committee in
relation to our claim for full pay when on Jury Service.
A Working Party will be set up through the Employee Relations Committee
to examine the Apprentice Benefit Structure under the Agreements.
